Plot:

Acclaimed mystery writer Abigal Mitchell, author of thirty-two best selling, books about murder, is certain that Edmund Galvin killed his wife, her beloved niece Phyillis. The police ruled that the young women died in a boating accident four months ago. Rather than reveal her suspicions, however, Abigail has been playing up to the fortune-hunter nephew by marriage. She has even altered her will in his favor. After all, the celebrated author tells Edmund, he is her only living relative. After signing the proper documents in the presence of her attorney, Martin Hammond, and her secretary, Veronica, Abigail prepares to leave for a flight to New York City, Taking Edmund aside , she tells him to sneak back by the service road. She wants to give him the combination to her walk-in vault, and Martin wouldn’t approve. Edmund is all to eager to cooperate since the vault contains jewels, important documents and a vast reserve of cash. Abigail opens the vault for a practice and asks him to get something inside. She shuts the door on him.

Plot:

Members of the Restaurant Developers Association routinely hand over twenty-five percent of their profits to powerful food critic Paul Gerard. In return, he praises their restaurants in his television show, radio program, newspaper column and magazine pieces. Vittorio Rossi, however, is tired of paying blackmail money to the mercenary Gerard. At a private eight o’clock dinner in the kitchen of Vittorio’s restaurant, the critic calmly listens as the volatile Italian repeats an earlier threat to expose the extortion scheme. Seemingly unconcerned, Paul leaves before Vittorio opens the bottle of wine he’s has his nephew Mario bring up from the cellar. With only Mario present, Vittorio drinks some wine and starts searching drawers. He stops suddenly, doubles over in pain. Screaming in agony, he falls to the floor- poisoned.

Plot:

When top network programmer Mark McAndrews gets promoted to a New York position, his chief assistant, ambitious Kay Freestone, expects to get his job-especially since they’re lovers. But Mark doesn’t think she’s ready to handle the West Coast entertainment division. While Kay is good at developing series, she has not had enough programming experience. Finding strong shows is one thing, knowing where to schedule them is another. Feeling abandoned and betrayed, Kay decides to murder her boss and lover. Plot:

Mind control guru Dr. Eric Mason knows that his colleague and best friend, Dr. Charles Hunter, was having and affair with his late wife. A rabid movie fan with a houseful of priceless Hollywood memorabilia, the noted psychologist has staged an ingenious scenario for murder. Eric has conditioned his two pet Doberman pinschers, Laurel and Hardy, to attack when they hear a two-part command. The ring of a telephone readies them for the attack. After, they will kill anyone who says the "secret" word.

Plot:

While charming poet and author Joe Devlin talks about working for peace in his native Ireland, he is secretly helping O’Connell Industries send arms to the Irish Republican Army in Belfast. With one breath he renounces his youthful days as a terrorist, with another he purchases automatic weapons. The genial Devlin is signing copies of his autobiography, UP From Ignorance, when a man hands him a book with the words "Ourselves Alone" printed on the first inside page. He is an arms dealer Vincent Pauley and this is a signal. "Ourselves Alone" was the rally cry of the Irish rebellion. But during a meeting at Pauley’s hotel, Joe learns that the arms dealer is demanding more money. The price of betrayal is death. Traitors must be executed. The poet shoots Pauley with one of his own pistols.
