Bruce Kirby is most familiar to "Columbo" fans as Sgt. Kramer. Kramer always falls for the killer's phony clues. In contrast to Columbo, Kramer sees only the obvious and his mind never leaps from the conventional. Although lacking any imagination, Kramer is a competent flatfoot who does some of the legwork while Columbo is busy solving the case. When Kramer sees Columbo, he rolls his eyes or shakes his head. When Columbo asks a question that seems off-beat, Kramer stares at Columbo incredulously. Kramer is obviously convinced that Columbo is a madman. Kramer never learns.

Bruce Kirby also appeared with Peter Falk in the movie "Happy New Year" (1987).
